That is the question. I've been reading today in Guardian's blogs about the need of the new writers to come into the bright lights. The author of the article thinks that the "golden boys" of the english literature scene should step back a bit and make place for the new talent.
Well, i think the same should happen all over the world actually. New writers need to have their voices heard and it's up to the publishers and the press to just help them do that. Being a new writer is not exactly a walk in the park, especially if you do not have the back up of some big publishing company and its numerous PR people. And the press is not helping either, since if you do not come straight up with a best seller no book critic will ever notice the unknown, insignificant you.
